  1. I started grade school in 1961, so I grew up during the downfall of The Western on TV. Some adults still bought me cowboy stuff as presents thinking that kids still played cowboys and indians.

    1. I think it was pretty hard for folks to give up the "dream." Kids had been playing it for so long that I guess it just seemed like it would never end.
